However, the piece-de-resistance of Samode Palace is the magnificent 300-year-old Durbar Hall or Sheesh Mahal, which is renowned for its lattice work. The palace is surrounded by hills, which makes for a truly picturesque setting.
On top of the palace is the fort and to reach the fort a flight of 300 steps have to be encountered before one can reach the fort. A visit to Samode is incomplete without visiting the beautifully landscaped garden of Samode Bagh. This is an exquisite Mughal garden.
